2025 Summer Traffic Task Force - Week 7

Gaithersburg, MD - During the seventh week of the Summer Traffic Task Force, officers from the Montgomery County Police Department’s Alcohol Initiatives Unit and Alcohol Enforcement Section worked with other law enforcement agencies to continue their traffic enforcement efforts across the county.

 

Between June 29 and July 5, officers conducted 130 traffic stops, which led to 28 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) and 1 criminal arrest. In addition, officers issued 240 traffic citations, 155 traffic warnings, 5 equipment repair orders, 1 criminal citation and 1 civil citation.

 

It is important to note that these figures represent only the enforcement actions taken by officers assigned to the task force. Additional DUI and related arrests made by patrol officers during this period are not included in this summary. Therefore, the total number of DUI arrests countywide is higher.

 

Participating allied agencies include the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Maryland State Police (SPIDRE Team and Rockville Barrack) and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police.
