Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Friday, July 18, 2025.
The victim, 52-year-old Yaovi Magloire Guedoh, of Frederick, was hit by a car while crossing Columbia Pike.
At approximately 10:34 p.m., 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Columbia Pike and Tech Road for the report of a pedestrian collision.
The investigation has revealed that Guedoh was crossing Columbia Pike in a westerly direction, when for reasons still under investigation, he was hit by the driver of a black 2020 GMC Terrain. Despite life-saving efforts, Guedoh was pronounced dead at the scene.
The adult driver of the Terrain remained on scene.
This is an active and ongoing investigation, and CRU detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call (240) 773-6620.
