Detectives Investigate Tanglewood Park Shooting

For Immediate Release: Monday, August 25, 2025

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred on Monday, August 11, 2025 near Tanglewood Park in Fairland. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying any possible suspects.

 

 At approximately 11:54 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of a shooting. Police officers located a juvenile male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.  

 

The investigation has revealed that the suspect was involved in a verbal dispute with the victim. The suspect displayed a handgun and shot the victim.

Tips may remain anonymous. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
