Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 22-year-old Terrance Barfield of Washington, D.C., and 18-year-old Jaylen Cunningham of Washington, D.C., in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Manny & Olga’s Pizza in Bethesda.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., members of the 2nd District Special Assignment Team (SAT) were conducting surveillance in the central business district of Bethesda when they observed two individuals walking into Manny & Olga’s Pizza, located at 8118 Woodmont Avenue.
A short time later, the individuals left the restaurant and got into a silver Hyundai Tucson parked nearby. SAT officers determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Prince George’s County the previous day. Officers maintained surveillance as the suspects drove away and conducted a stop near Jones Bridge Road and Grier Road in Chevy Chase, where both individuals were taken into custody without incident.
Officers arrived on scene and confirmed a commercial armed robbery occurred at Manny & Olga’s. An employee told officers that two suspects entered the store, and one implied he had a weapon while demanding money from the register. Both suspects took cash and left the business.
During the investigation, detectives determined that Barfield and Cunningham were responsible for the robbery.
Further investigation revealed that Barfield is also responsible for three additional armed robberies of pizza restaurants that occurred in Montgomery County between September 23 and October 1, 2025:
Barfield and Cunningham were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where they were charged with armed robbery, motor vehicle theft, and related offenses. Both are being held without bond.
