Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 1st District Investigative Section have arrested and charged 30-year-old Octavio A. Estevez for a triple stabbing that occurred in the 10 block of Indian Hills Court of Derwood.
On Monday, November 3, 2025, at approximately 9:35 a.m., 1st District officers responded to the location for the report of a suspicious situation.
Upon arrival, officers located two adult females and an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Estevez was inside his residence when he attacked and stabbed his mother and then his grandmother, when she attempted to stop him from hurting his mother. Hearing the commotion inside the residence, a Good Samaritan attempted to intervene and was subsequently stabbed. Estevez then left the scene of the crime.
All three victims were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Thursday, November 7, 2025, Estevez was located in Spotsylvania, VA, by the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office and taken into custody.
Estevez remains in custody in Virginia pending extradition to Montgomery County. He is charged with three counts of first-degree assault.
