Gaithersburg, MD — The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division, Homicide Section is investigating a domestic-related murder-suicide after a man and woman, both 28-years-old, were found dead at an apartment building on University Boulevard West.
On Wednesday, November 26, at approximately 12:54 p.m., 4th District officers and Fire Rescue personnel were called to the Warwick Apartments in the 1100 block of University Boulevard West for a report that a man had jumped from the building. First responders found Demetreis Lee outside near the pool area, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
As officers searched the building to determine where he had come from, they found Andrea Guirola in the hallway on the twenty-first floor with stab wounds. Officers and Fire Rescue personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but she died at the scene.
A witness stated that Lee stabbed Guirola inside the apartment. Guirola was able to leave the apartment but collapsed in the hallway, where first responders found her. Lee was last seen on the balcony before falling.
A knife believed to have been used in the stabbing was recovered outside.
Both bodies have been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the official cause and manner of death.
