Kensington Man Charged With Possession of Child Pornography

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, December 2, 2025

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) has arrested and charged an 18-year-old Kensington man with ten counts of possession of child pornography following a several-month investigation initiated through a national cyber tip.

On February 19, 2025, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a tip regarding a social media account suspected of being used to possess child pornography. The tip was provided to the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and forwarded to the Montgomery County Department of Police for investigation.

During the course of the investigation, detectives traced the associated IP address to a residence in Kensington and identified the account as being connected to 18-year-old Evan Morrison.

Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for Morrison’s residence on Tuesday, October 2. The following day, on October 3, MCPD detectives executed the residential search warrant on Nicholson Lane, recovering multiple items of evidentiary value.

On Thursday, October 23, detectives obtained a second search warrant authorizing the examination of electronic devices seized from the residence.

On Tuesday, November 25, a warrant for Morrison’s arrest was issued and he was taken into custody on Sunday, November 30. Morrison was initially held without bond in Anne Arundel County. A bond review is scheduled in Montgomery County on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

Morrison, a volunteer firefighter/EMT affiliated with the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad and the Bethesda Fire Department since 2023, has been removed from all volunteer activities upon notification of the investigation. According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS), he has not been operational since that time and no longer has access to any MCFRS facilities, equipment, systems, or records.

This remains an active investigation. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400.
