Following a yearlong investigation that led to an international takedown, the Montgomery County Department of Police, Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office and the FBI Baltimore Field Office will announce the results of a coordinated effort targeting large-scale financial fraud schemes.

The investigation resulted in arrests of both foreign and domestic fraudsters responsible for stealing nearly $50 million from Americans, as well as local prosecutions involving crimes committed against Maryland residents.

Two local fraud victims will also be present to share their personal experiences after being targeted and scammed out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
