Cold Case Detectives Continue Search for Germantown Woman Missing Since 2016

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, February 3, 2026

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives with the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division, Cold Case Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a Germantown woman who has been missing for 10 years.

Nancy Eillen Strohmeyer was reported missing in February 2016. Cold Case detectives continue to investigate her disappearance and are renewing efforts to generate new information.

Strohmeyer, who was 66-years-old at the time of her disappearance, lived in the 13100 block of Millhaven Place in Germantown and last had contact with a family member by phone on February 3, 2016, at approximately 7 p.m.
She has not been heard from since and was reported missing the following day on February 4.  

Strohmeyer’s bed had not been slept in and her morning medication had not been taken. It is believed she may have left her home during the evening hours of February 3, 2016.

At the time of her disappearance, Strohmeyer, who has Alzheimer's/Dementia left without her medication, and police and family remain concerned for her welfare.

Strohmeyer is described as a White female, approximately 5-feet 7-inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. At the time she was last seen, she had shoulder-length blonde hair and may have been wearing a tan coat over a turquoise sweatshirt. An age-progressed image has been created to reflect how she may appear today.
