Detectives Investigate Series of Commercial Burglaries in Bethesda and Wheaton

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, February 10, 2026

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd and 4th District Investigative Sections are investigating a series of commercial burglaries that occurred in the Bethesda and Wheaton areas between February 6 and February 8, 2026.

The investigation has determined that unknown suspects forced entry into the following businesses and stole an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the scene.

  • T-Mobile: 15428 News Hampshire Ave.
  • Selam Beauty Studio: 15422 New Hampshire Ave.
  • Grace Nails: 15418 News Hampshire Ave.
  • Shibuya Eatery: 4461 Willard Ave.
  • Meiwah Restaurant: 4457 Willard Ave.
  • Craft Beer & Wine: 4459 Willard Ave.
  • Bethesda Crab House: 4958 Bethesda Ave.
  • Bethesda Market: 4611 Sangamore Rd.

The suspects also attempted to force entry into Planta restaurant in the 4900 block of Elm St. before leaving the location.

A description and photographs of the suspects and the vehicle involved were obtained from surveillance footage.

The suspects are described as four unknown race males wearing dark clothing and armed with a hammer and a large black axe with a yellow handle. Both the hammer and axe were used to force entry into the businesses.

The suspects’ vehicle is believed to be a newer-model silver Acura TLX bearing a Washington, D.C. license plate
