Gaithersburg, MD — A Frederick man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in August of 2025.
27-year-old Dione Jordan was arrested Wednesday, February 4, 2026, by the Montgomery County Department of Police Fugitive Unit. He is charged with manslaughter by vehicle – gross negligence.
The crash occurred on August 20, 2025, near the intersection of Frederick Road and Ridge Road in Germantown. Investigators determined that Jordan was driving a black 2022 Toyota Corolla southbound on Frederick Road when he struck 34-year-old Branden Corey Williams, who was crossing the roadway.
Evidence shows Williams was crossing Frederick Road approximately 40 feet south of the nearest crosswalk.
Collision Reconstruction detectives determined Jordan was traveling about 70 mph in the 45-mph zone as he approached the intersection. Evidence indicates he accelerated in an attempt to get through the intersection before the light turned red.
Jordan struck Williams as he crossed from right to left in the southbound lanes. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
On December 3, 2025, investigators presented the case to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office. Jordan posted 10% of a $10,000 bond and was released.
