Gaithersburg, MD – 27-year-old Aissa Mahdi Ould Brahim of Gaithersburg has been arrested after allegedly stealing property from a home where he was hired as a professional organizer. The officer assigned to the case is concerned that additional victims who hired him to organize in their homes may also be missing property.
The investigation has revealed that on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at approximately 3 p.m., Brahim was inside a home in the 5000 block of Del Ray Avenue in Bethesda providing organizing services, which included folding and putting away clothing. Shortly after, the victim left the house to pick up her child. When she returned, Brahim quickly left for the day.
The victim later discovered that a gold necklace was missing from her home and filed a report with an officer at the 2nd District Station in Bethesda.
Through the course of the investigation, the officer identified Brahim as the suspect.
The officer also found out that Brahim had sold the stolen necklace to a buyer through Facebook Marketplace. After being informed that the necklace had been stolen, the buyer returned it to the victim.
Further investigation revealed that Brahim also stole clothing items, gift cards and cash from the victim’s home on January 22.
The officer obtained an arrest warrant against Brahim, charging him with one count of theft $25,000 to under $100,000.
A search warrant was executed at Brahim’s home, where items of evidentiary value were recovered.
On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Brahim was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. He has been released on a $7,500 unsecured personal bond.
