Rockville Teen Dies of Fentanyl Overdose; Detectives Seek Public’s Help Identifying Supplier

Gaithersburg, MD –The Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Investigations Division is investigating the death of 15-year-old Gabriel Ronald Mehta of Rockville and are asking for the public’s help to identify the person who supplied the fentanyl involved.

 

On Friday, February 28, 2025, at approximately 12:08 a.m., 4D officers responded to the 2510 block of Baltimore Road in Rockville for the report of a drowning.

 

Upon arrival, officers located Mehta unconscious in the bathtub and immediately began life-saving efforts until Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel arrived.

 

Mehta was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

 

Detectives are working to identify the individual(s) who supplied Mehta with fentanyl, or anyone he was in contact with on February 27, 2025.
