Damascus Fatal Collision - Summary of Events

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, March 3, 2026

The following is a brief summary of events regarding a fatal Damascus collision the evening of Monday, March 2.

Montgomery County Department of Police 5th District officers and Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched at approximately 10:29 p.m. to the area of Ridge Road, north of Sweepstakes Road, for a multi-vehicle collision.

First responders located the driver of a Toyota Camry in the roadway after he was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a Lexus NX350, an adult female, was trapped inside the vehicle, extricated, and transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A third vehicle, a Ford Fusion, was involved in the collision, but the driver was not injured.

Multiple witnesses reported that the driver of the Toyota was traveling northbound on Ridge Road at a high rate of speed before the crash.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating. Additional information will be released as it becomes available, including the name of the deceased following notification of next of kin.
