Silver Spring Man Dies in Norbeck Road Pedestrian Collision

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, March 3, 2026

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that resulted in the death of 69-year-old Harry George Kazanjian of Silver Spring.

 

On Sunday, March 1, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Montgomery County Police, Rockville City Police, and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel responded to the intersection of Norbeck Road and Avery Road for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan.

 

The initial investigation revealed that Kazanjian was crossing Norbeck Road from Avery Road toward the eastbound shoulder when, for reasons still under investigation, he was struck by the Chrysler, which was traveling eastbound on Norbeck Road through the intersection.

 

Kazanjian was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The driver of the Chrysler remained on scene.
