Capitol Heights Man Charged with Solicitation of a Minor; Additional Victims a Concern

Gaithersburg, MD - A Capitol Heights man has been charged with solicitation of a minor, and Montgomery County Department of Police 4th District Central Business District officers believe there may be additional victims.

58-year-old Miguel Angel Torres-Manzanerez was arrested on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Wheaton Mall.

At approximately 12:50 p.m., 4th District officers were touring the mall’s security command center when they noticed suspicious behavior on surveillance cameras near the restrooms involving what appeared to be two men arguing.

Officers went to the area and found Torres-Manzanerez with a 16-year-old boy. The boy told officers that Torres-Manzanerez had allegedly asked if he could perform a sexual act on him.

Torres-Manzanerez was taken into custody and charged with one count of sexual solicitation of a minor.

He was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.

Officers believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward and are asking anyone with information to call the 4th District station at 240-773-5500.
