Detectives Investigate Dickerson Road Fatal Collision; Victim's Identity Released

Gaithersburg, MD — The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Sunday, March 22, 2026. The collision resulted in the death of 32-year-old Michael Richard Bower of Hagerstown.

 

At approximately 1:11 p.m., 5th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Dickerson Road and Mouth of Monocacy Road for the report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.

 

The investigation has revealed that a green 2005 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle was traveling westbound on Dickerson Road when, for reasons still under investigation, it collided in the intersection with a tan 2019 Subaru Ascent traveling southbound on Mouth of Monocacy Road. Bower was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead on scene. No other injuries were reported.
