On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Montgomery County Department of Police 6th District officers were proactively patrolling the area of Contour Road in the Montgomery Village Plaza following community complaints of criminal activity.
Officers observed an adult male engaged in suspicious behavior. When officers approached him, the suspect ran, and officers chased him into an apartment complex across the street. Neither officer was injured, and no bystanders were harmed during the shooting.
The officer who fired the shots has been placed on administrative leave and the Major Crimes Division is conducting the investigation into the shooting.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. More information, including the suspect’s identity and charges, will be released when it becomes available.
