Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the 2700 block of Sweet Shrub Drive in Germantown.
On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at approximately 8:13 p.m., 5th District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel responded to the 2700 block of Sweet Shrub Drive for the report of a stabbing.
The investigation determined that the victim, a 14-year-old male, was stabbed following an argument on a bus that escalated into a physical altercation with a group of juveniles known to him. The victim made his way to a nearby grocery store, where he called 911.
The victim sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound and was transported to an area hospital.
Officers conducted a search of the area and apprehended the primary suspect. One 16-year-old male is in custody. There is no threat to the community.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
