The Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division (IID) is investigating a death that occurred in Montgomery County in December of 2025. On Tuesday, March 24, the IID released body-worn camera footage that includes the decedent’s interactions with Montgomery County Police Officers.
On Monday, December 15, 2025, Montgomery County police officers responded to a call from a concerned citizen regarding a subject’s welfare.
The officers located 31-year-old Jamal Thompson and interacted with him. Thompson was subsequently transported to a hospital for an evaluation.
After he was turned over to medical staff, officers cleared the scene without incident. While in the hospital’s care, Thompson experienced a medical crisis and died on December 22, 2025.
