Summary of Events: Merivale Road Fatal House Fire

For Immediate Release: Friday, April 3, 2026

The following is a brief summary of events regarding a fatal house fire that occurred on Friday, April 3, 2026, in the 4700 block of Merivale Road.

 

At approximately 5:43 a.m., 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a house fire.

 

Upon arrival, responders located an adult female inside the residence, who was pronounced dead on scene. An adult male was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. All occupants were accounted for.

 

Montgomery County Department of Police detectives are investigating because a death occurred at the scene. A news release will be issued when more information becomes available, including the name of the decedent, following proper notification of next of kin.
