Detectives Investigative Georgia and Thayer Avenues Shooting

For Immediate Release: Friday, April 3, 2026

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of Georgia Avenue and Thayer Avenue during the early morning hours of Friday, April 3, 2026.

 

At approximately 2:04 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for reports of a shooting.

 

The preliminary investigation has revealed that unknown suspects were involved in an argument with a 25-year-old male victim. During the altercation, the suspects shot the victim for reasons that remain under investigation.

 

The victim was later taken in a private vehicle to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

 

No arrests have been made. No suspect information is available.
