Detectives Seek Information in Elm Shade Court Shooting

For Immediate Release: Thursday, April 9, 2026

Gaithersburg, MD - Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police - 5th District responded to a shooting that occurred at approximately 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Elm Shade Playground located in the 11900 block of Elm Shade Ct. in Clarksburg.

 

The preliminary investigation has revealed that a group of approximately 6 to 8 subjects were gathered at the playground. The group was observed splitting up and shots were fired.

 

A nearby vehicle was struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.

 

Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information to come forward. The incident occurred during daylight hours in the presence of community members.
