Summary of Events: Georgia Avenue Fatality
For Immediate Release: Sunday, April 12, 2026
The following is a brief summary of events regarding a single-vehicle collision that occurred on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in the area of Georgia Avenue and Randolph Road.
At approximately 1:17 a.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a single-vehicle collision.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that a Cadillac Escalade was traveling northbound Georgia Avenue prior to Randolph Road when, for reasons still under investigation, it left the roadway and struck a wooden utility pole before coming to a rest upside down in the roadway.
The adult male driver of the Cadillac was pronounced dead on scene.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this fatality. A news release will be issued when more information becomes available, including the name of the decedent, following proper notification of next of kin.
