For Immediate Release: Monday, April 13, 2026
The Montgomery County Department of Police is aware of concerns circulating in the community following recent incidents at Bradley Hills Elementary School.
On Saturday, April 11, 2026, at approximately 2 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the school for vandalism. Graffiti was found at the school referencing a previous school shooting. This incident is being investigated by MCPD’s Threat Assessment & Behavioral Solutions Unit.
The burned shed discovered on school property is related to an arson that occurred approximately one week earlier. That investigation is being handled separately by the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office.
We understand that incidents involving schools are concerning for parents and residents. We are also aware that information circulating online may not always be complete or verified. While we understand the desire to stay informed, sharing unconfirmed details online can cause unnecessary fear and confusion. We encourage the community to rely on updates from official sources and allow detectives the time and space to do their work.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s), and there may be times when details cannot be shared publicly in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.
The 2nd District has increased both uniform and plainclothes patrols around the Bradley Hills campus. This includes targeted patrols during school hours and overnight checks to deter further incidents.
A rotation of Community Engagement Officers has been assigned to provide extra coverage at Bradley Hills Elementary School during the school day. We are working closely with Montgomery County Public Schools, which has also increased security at the school.
