Statement from Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich on Labor Day
For Immediate Release: Monday 2 September
Although many refer to Labor Day as the unofficial end of summer, Labor Day is an important celebration spotlighting the labor movement and the achievement of our workers. In Montgomery County, we have led the fight for $15 to increase the minimum wage, passed the sick and safe leave law, and the pay equity act. These are essential steps toward a more just and more robust economy that directly impacts the lives of future generations. On Labor Day, we celebrate our workers, their achievements, and their rights.
