Statement from Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich on the Close of Eid al-Fitr

This year the Muslim community has been able to celebrate Ramadan in large gatherings for the first time in nearly three years. I have been honored to attend multiple Iftar dinners over the past month where I was welcomed with warmth and hospitality. I am very grateful for the opportunities I have had to gather with friends and families during this significant time of year.
I wish our Muslim community a happy Eid al-Fitr as Ramadan ends. I also what to thank you for your compassion and collaboration over the last two years of the pandemic. Your partnership was key in helping us assist those who needed assistant and made our County safer.
I wish you peace, blessings, and prosperity during this important holy time
