Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, along with other officials, will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Montgomery County Public Safety Training Academy (PSTA).
Also participating in the event will be Montgomery County Council President Nancy Floreen and Councilmembers Marc Elrich, Sidney Katz and Hans Riemer; Police Chief J. Thomas Manger, Fire Chief Scott E. Goldstein, Department of Transportation Director Al Roshdieh, Department of Correction and Rehabilitation Director Robert Green and Department of General Services Director David Dise.
The opening of the PSTA marks the completion of the eighth project and the final construction of a new facility as outlined in Leggett’s Smart Growth Initiative http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/cpus/faqs.html. The PSTA will provide cutting-edge technology and a state-of-the-art compound for both academic and practical skills public-safety training.
Following the ceremonies, attendees can tour the Academic Building and take a guided bus tour for an overview of the other facilities on the multi-component campus.
