19th Annual Recycling Achievement Recognition Ceremony

County Executive Isiah Leggett will present remarks and recognize recycling award recipients.
The County’s Department of Environmental Protection/Division of Solid Waste Services will recognize 13 businesses, non-profit organizations, and government facilities, as well as 11 multi-family properties in the following categories: excellence in recycling for businesses and multi-family properties recycling more than 70 percent of their waste stream generated during calendar year 2017; achievement with innovative waste reduction, reuse and/or recycling programs that minimize the amount of solid waste disposed; outstanding educational programs to increase overall recycling awareness; and reinvigorated efforts to increase waste reduction, reuse and recycling programs.
Eight individuals will be recognized for their efforts to encourage and motivate others in their community or at their workplace to increase their waste reduction, reuse, recycling, buying recycled and composting/grasscycling efforts.
