Montgomery County Weekly Media Briefing Set for Wednesday, April 17, to Focus on Adult Use Cannabis Update & Energy Summit 2024

Reporters interested in asking Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich questions will be able to do so during this week’s virtual media briefing on Wednesday, April 17, at 1:30 p.m.
The County Executive will welcome Will Tilburg, director of the Maryland Cannabis Administration, ahead of this weekend’s 4/20 celebrations. It is the first 4/20 since adult use of cannabis was legalized, regulated and available to the public. Following another successful Montgomery County Energy Summit, the County Executive will also discuss the vital role of government-business partnerships in sustainability.
The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o'connor@montgomerycountymd.gov by 11:30 a.m. on the briefing day. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
You can view the media briefing live on the County Executive’s X account (@MontCoExec) or the County's Facebook page. It will not air live on County Cable Montgomery (as it normally is) due to a scheduling conflict.
