For Immediate Release: Wednesday, May 22, 2024
Reporters interested in asking Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich questions will be able to do so during this week’s virtual media briefing at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 23.
The County Executive will discuss his nomination of Assistant Chief Marc Yamada to succeed retiring Montgomery County Police Department Chief Marcus Jones. He will also react to Thursday’s anticipated action from the Montgomery County Council regarding the Fiscal Year 2025 Operating Budget and FY 25-30 Capital Improvements Program.
The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o'[email protected] by 11 a.m. on the briefing day. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
You can view the media briefing live on the County Executive’s X account (@MontCoExec) or the County's Facebook page. However, due to a scheduling conflict, it will not air live in its entirety as it typically does on County Cable Montgomery.
