Montgomery County’s Weekly Media Briefing at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, to Focus on School Safety

Reporters are encouraged to participate in this week’s virtual media briefing on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m., where they will have the opportunity to ask Montgomery County Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Rich Madaleno questions. County Executive Marc Elrich is away on business this week.

The CAO speak with the new Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Chief of Security and Compliance Marcus Jones about the school district's approach to school safety. They will be joined by Montgomery County Police Department's (MCPD) Acting Assistant Chief David McBain to talk about how MCPD and MCPS will be collaborating moving forward.

The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should contact Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o'[email protected] by 9 a.m. on the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
