50th Anniversary of Community Action Agency

Council President Hans Riemer presented a proclamation celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Community Action Agency (CAA), which serves the County’s vulnerable residents, working to address disparities in housing, transportation, medical care, and education. The Community Action Agency monitors over 40 contracts for the County at nonprofit organizations that provide emergency services, food and nutrition programs and legal assistance. Pamela Luckett, outgoing chair of the Community Action Board, and Sharon Strauss, executive director of CAA, spoke at the presentation. The presentation was also attended by CAB members Isaac Osei Asare, Mary Bennett, Lisa Conlon, Lisette Engel and Ronald Jennings, vice chair; and staff members Leah Goldfine, Aizat Oladapo and Charlene Muhammad (not pictured).
