Montgomery County Council set
to approve $5.3 Billion
Fiscal Year 2017 operating budget

Fiscal Years 2017-22 Capital Improvements Program
ROCKVILLE, Md., May 25, 2016—The Montgomery County Council at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, is scheduled to formally approve a $5.3 billion County operating budget for Fiscal Year 2017, a 4.3 percent increase over the approved budget for FY 2016. The Council also is expected to approve a $4.6 billion Capital Improvements Program (CIP) for Fiscal Years 2017-2022.
The Council unanimously reached preliminary agreement on the operating and Capital Improvements budgets on May 19. Both budgets will go into effect on July 1.
The Council’s session will be held in the Third Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville. The meeting will be televised live by County Cable Montgomery (CCM—Cable Channel 6 on Comcast and RCN, Channel 30 on Verizon) and also will be available via streaming through the Council web site at http://tinyurl.com/z9982v8 .
