Montgomery County Public Libraries’ Davis and Little Falls Branches to Close for Refresh Projects

For Immediate Release: Thursday, June 2, 2016

Montgomery County Public Libraries has announced the closing dates for the Davis and Little Falls libraries to be renovated or “refreshed” under the Library Refurbishment Level-of-Effort initiative in the Capital Improvement Program.

The Little Falls Library will close on Saturday, July 9 at 6 p.m.  The Davis Library will close on Saturday July 16 at 6 p.m.  Both libraries will be closed for approximately six months.

“Physical construction for the refresh projects at Davis and Little Falls will begin in August, but we are closing ahead of the construction start date to complete the internal reorganization of collections and shelving, and at Little Falls, to complete asbestos abatement.  We look forward to welcoming the customers of Davis and Little Falls back to their branches this winter, and hope they will visit nearby branches and our 24/7 website while their facilities are undergoing the refresh process,” noted Library Director Parker Hamilton.

Please check www.montgomerycountymd.gov/library for information regarding the closings, including the last date for book returns in the book drop and the last date for placement of holds from a Little Falls or Davis pickup location.

The KID Museum in the lower level of the Davis Library will remain open during the time the Davis Library is closed.

The County Library Capital Grant Program and the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Library Development and Services partially funded both projects.
