Montgomery County Public Libraries’ Wheaton Interim Branch Update

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, September 27, 2016

In support of the election process in Montgomery County, Montgomery County Public Libraries’ (MCPL) has announced the Wheaton Interim branch will temporarily suspend services at 6 p.m. on October 21 and resume on November 17 at 9 a.m.

In addition to the Wheaton Interim site the County has nine other County facilities designated as early voting sites, which have been approved by the State Board of Elections.

“During this brief hiatus, the Montgomery County Board of Elections will be preparing for and holding early voting at the site,” said MCPL Director Parker Hamilton. “At the same time, MCPL staff will be excitedly completing the preparations needed to add books to the interim library.  We will reopen with more services and materials to delight our customers.”

While the Wheaton Interim branch is on hiatus, residents may use any of MCPL’s 21 branches or its 24/7 website. Nearby branches are: Kensington Park, Silver Spring, Twinbrook and White Oak libraries.

Please check MCPL’s homepage for additional information, including the last date for book returns at the Interim branch and the last date for placement of holds with a Wheaton Interim pickup location.
