Cabin John Bridge Will Be Closed During the Day on October 20
For Immediate Release: Tuesday, October 11, 2016
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will temporarily close the one- lane Cabin John Bridge (Aqueduct Bridge) to traffic on Thursday, October 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This closure is necessary to complete traffic signal equipment upgrades and associated Pepco utility work. To ensure the safety of work crews and travelers, MCDOT will close both the eastbound and westbound lanes of MacArthur Boulevard between the Cabin John Local Park to the west and Wilson Lane (MD 188) to the east. The bridge will reopen to traffic once the signal work is completed.
MCDOT is providing signed detours for area residents and businesses. Local traffic will be directed to use Seven Locks Road, River Road (MD190), and Wilson Lane (MD188).
MCDOT appreciates the patience and cooperation of those who work and live in the area. Travelers should expect some delays.
