Leggett to Hold First of Five FY18 Operating Budget Forums January 9; Residents’ Feedback Crucial in Determining Priorities

For Immediate Release: Thursday, December 1, 2016

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is holding the first of five budget forums the second week in January to seek input from residents about Fiscal Year 2018 (FY18) Operating Budget priorities. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 9 at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center, 4805 Edgemoor Lane, Bethesda.

“Public forums are the residents’ opportunity to tell me what is important to them as I prepare next year’s operating budget for submission to the County Council on March 15,” said Leggett. “Input from residents for the FY18 budget is crucial in helping me determine the County’s budget priorities.”

Additional forums in other areas of the County are scheduled throughout January:

The County Executive will announce his Recommended FY18 Operating Budget on March 15. The County Council approves the operating budget at the end of May. Sign language interpreter services will be provided only upon request with notice as far in advance as possible, but no less than 72 hours prior to the event.
