ROCKVILLE, Md., January 20, 2017—Montgomery County Councilmember George Leventhal, who chairs the Council’s Health and Human Services Committee, will be the featured guest at 2:30 p.m. TODAY, Friday, Jan. 20, on En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (Tuned In with the Montgomery County Council), a weekly show on Radio America (WACA 1540 AM).  The main theme of the show will be the potential impact on the Latino community if new policies and programs are implemented by the new Presidential administration that took office in Washington today.

Joining Councilmember Leventhal on today’s show will be Patricio Zamorano, a political expert and professor at George Washington University, and Yamilah Pino, a political strategist at "Prospero Latino." The show will address how potentially revised federal policies and programs could affect local governments—including Montgomery County. The guests also will discuss possible changes in immigration policies, the Affordable Care Act, health, education, environment and foreign affairs.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered into a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one- hour show each Friday on the Washington Region’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and occasionally the show provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.

In addition to the radio broadcast, the show can be heard via the Internet at: http://tunein.com/radio/Radio-America-1540-s6029/ .
