Press Releases - Department of Transportation

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, April 11, 2017

MCDOT has installed a new, 19-dock Capital Bikeshare Station at the Shady Grove Metro Station East Entrance.

The developer EYA is funding the purchase, installation and 12 years of operating and maintenance costs for the station as part of their EYA Westside Development, which is located next to the Shady Grove Metro Station. EYA purchased this station in conjunction with two others that will be installed later this spring.

The new location expands the Rockville/Shady Grove/Life Sciences Bikeshare network to 23 stations that connect the City of Rockville, the Rockville and Shady Grove Metro stations, King Farm and the areas around the Life Sciences Center and Shady Grove.

More information about Capital Bikeshare is available online.
