ROCKVILLE, Md., May 19, 2017—Spring is often the time when people who have never owned home start thinking that having a place of their own should be the next step in their lives. However, buying a first home can be a complicated process without the right information to start. Today at 2:30 p.m. on En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (Tuned In with the Montgomery County Council), the Montgomery County Council’s weekly show on Radio America (WACA 1540 AM) will focus on the homebuying process and will offer details that could help residents become homeowners.

The show will address programs and seminars offered by the County for potential first-time homebuyers, including those starting out with low incomes.
Special guests on today’s show will include Walda Yon, the director of Housing for the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC). The center is a non-profit organization that partners with Montgomery County to drive the economic and social advancement of low- to moderate- income Latinos and other underserved communities in the Washington metropolitan area. The center seeks to provide low income residents with the skills and tools to achieve financial independence and become leaders in their communities.

For more information about the Latino Economic Development Center, visit its web site at http://ledcmetro.org/es/ .
Another guest today will be Laura Bowman-Pimientel, an independent real estate agent who specializes in helping members of the low income Latino community.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered into a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one- hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.
Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.

In addition to the radio broadcast, the show can be heard via the Internet at: http://tunein.com/radio/Radio-America-1540-s6029/ .
