Employees Recognized at DLC Awards Ceremony

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, October 18, 2017

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, Department of Liquor Control (DLC) Director Robert Dorfman and DLC Deputy Director Edgar Gonzalez recognized 11 DLC employees at an Employee of the Year awards ceremony that was held on October 18, at Public Safety Headquarters in Gaithersburg.

It was the first time the DLC hosted an employee awards ceremony in more than 20 years.

“I want to first acknowledge the importance of this event,” said Leggett. “It is well overdue in my opinion. Under our new management team, there have been other changes taking place in the department as we strive to innovate operations, increase efficiency, continue to protect the public and always deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction and service.”

Employees were nominated for the awards by their peers in five different categories, and a selection committee reviewed the nominations.

“It was a very competitive process,” Dorfman said, noting the award winners’ commitment to excellence and dedication did not go unnoticed. “You stood out as role models, leaders and problem solvers.”
