County Council member Hans Riemer, MCDOT and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission are hosting a community meeting on Wednesday, November 1, from 7:30 to 9 p.m., to discuss bicycling issues in Bethesda.  The meeting will be held at the Jane E. Lawton Community Recreation Center, 4301 Willow Lane, Chevy Chase.

MCDOT will give a brief update on the County's plans for improving east-west bicycle connections between Silver Spring and Bethesda in the wake of the closure of the Georgetown Branch Trail. The Washington Area Bicyclist Association will share initial feedback from its members on the interim trail route and identify needs. The balance of the meeting will be devoted to a question and answer period for the public. Click here to RSVP.

See the county's Bicycle Master Plan, which is nearing completion, for information on what is proposed to make Montgomery County a world-class bicycling community.
