Residents Can Learn More About the US 29 BRT at an Open House

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, November 7, 2017

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) on US 29 will be the first of its kind in the State of Maryland. Join the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) at one of three open houses in November and learn how the BRT will provide an easier, faster, more reliable, and less stressful way to travel. Learn about all aspects of the project by visiting displays, and share feedback. This is a family-friendly event featuring a children’s activity area.

 

The open houses will be held:

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2017 6:30 - 8:30 PM

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2017 7 - 9 PM

The 13.5-mile BRT will operate between the Silver Spring Transit Center and Burtonsville along the US 29 corridor. The BRT will feature limited stops, off-board fare collection, priority signaling, Wi-Fi, and level-boarding through all doors to provide a faster ride. Stations will have real-time travel information.
