Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is holding the first of five budget forums on Monday, January 8, to seek input from residents about Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19) Operating Budget priorities. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center, 4805 Edgemoor Lane, Bethesda.
“Public forums are for residents’ to tell me what is important to them as I prepare next year’s operating budget for submission to the County Council on March 15,” said Leggett. “Input from residents for the FY19 budget is crucial in helping me determine the county’s budget priorities.”
Additional forums are scheduled throughout January across the County:
● Wednesday, January 24 – 7 p.m. – FY19 Operating Budget Forum, Mid-County Community Center (for the
Mid-County Regional Services Center), 2004 Queensguard Road, Silver Spring
● Monday, January 29 – 7 p.m. – FY19 Operating Budget Forum, BlackRock Center for the Arts (for the
Sidney Kramer Upcounty Regional Services Center), 12901 Town Commons Drive, Germantown
● Tuesday, January 30 – 7 p.m. – FY19 Operating Budget Forum, Silver Spring Civic Building, One Veterans
Place, Silver Spring
● Wednesday, January 31 – 7 p.m. – FY19 Operating Budget Forum, Eastern Montgomery Regional Services
Center, 3300 Briggs Chaney Road, Silver Spring
The County Executive will announce his Recommended FY19 Operating Budget on March 15. The County Council approves the operating budget at the end of May. Sign language interpreter services will be provided only upon request with notice as far in advance as possible, but no less than 72 hours prior to the event.
