This year, the Montgomery County Council will make a very important decision with enormous implications for our County’s future, pattern of development, and quality of life.
The Montgomery County Planning Board chairman’s term ends on June 14. The five-member Planning Board serves as the Council’s principal advisor on land use and community planning.
The current chair, Derick Berlage, is eligible to serve another term and has indicated that he wishes to be considered for reappointment. He will receive serious consideration.
However, the Council also encourages all those with relevant experience and interest to submit applications. We know that our County has within it a wealth of talent and commitment. We very much want to have as wide a range of applicants to choose from as possible. Those wishing further information should contact Justina Ferber of the Council staff at 240-777-7938 or check out the information on the Council website www.montgomerycountymd.gov/council. The deadline for application is April 12.
