Press Releases - Department of Transportation

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, February 14, 2024

The public meeting previously scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 15, has been postponed until further notice.

Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will reschedule a virtual public hearing to discuss the abandonment of a portion of public right of way on Broadwater Road in Gaithersburg.

Those previously registered to attend the hearing are not required to re-register.

The abandonment case was petitioned by Nagle & Zaller, PC, representing Goshen Run Homeowners Association, Inc. (the “Applicant”). At an upcoming virtual public hearing, residents will have an opportunity to present oral and/or written comments concerning the abandonment of a portion of public right of way covering approximately 27,146 square feet. The petition seeks to abandon the Public Right of Way on the basis that there is no current or anticipated future public use of the parcel.

Online registration wil be required to attend once the meeting is rescheduled. The day before the public hearing, an email with a Zoom link will be sent to registrants via email. Written testimony carries the same weight as oral testimony. Testimony and information provided will become a matter of public record. Questions and written comments may be submitted to:
