“The women being recognized with the 2025 Women Making History Award represent the very best of Montgomery County—women who have dedicated themselves to making our community stronger, more inclusive and more just,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. "Their leadership, resilience and commitment to meaningful change inspire all of us. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, let’s not forget that there’s still work to do. We must keep pushing for a future where every woman has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.”

To learn more about this year’s honorees and view their photos, visit the Commission for Women website, which includes write-ups on each honoree.

These women were nominated by their peers for their leadership, dedication and impact in areas such as civic engagement, professional excellence and social change. All nominees live or work in Montgomery County—a requirement for receiving this award.

In recognition of Women’s History Month, the Montgomery County Commission for Women and Montgomery Women will highlight each award recipient and their accomplishments on social media throughout March. The honorees will be formally celebrated at the invitation-only Women Making History Celebration in April.
