Department of Liquor Control to Host Statewide Alcohol Regulatory Forum

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Montgomery County’s Department of Liquor Control will host the fifth annual Maryland Statewide Alcohol Beverage Forum that brings together representatives from liquor control boards and representatives of local enforcement agencies to share information on alcohol regulatory programs. The all-day forum is scheduled for Monday, July 30 at the Silver Spring Civic Building, One Veterans Place.

Funded in part by a grant from the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association, the forum will focus on safety and security issues, licensing processes and educational resources for businesses that sell and serve alcohol. Experts from around the state will share regulatory “best practices” and identify steps to keep businesses and communities safe and vibrant. The keynote speech will be presented by Pamela Erickson, CEO of Public Action Management. Erickson is a researcher of alcohol policy and an advocate of alcohol control jurisdictions.
