County Executive Leggett’s Remarks at Move More Montgomery

Good Afternoon!
It is a pleasure to be here this afternoon for the 2017 Move More Montgomery Festival.
Our Recreation Department introduced the “Move More Montgomery 100-Mile Challenge” as a healthy way to encourage all residents to get moving and have fun. Today’s celebration is the culminating event for the challenge.
More than 1,100 residents signed up for the challenge and committed to spend 20 minutes, or more, participating in continuous physical activity every day.
Congratulations to everyone who successfully completed the challenge!
If you did not successfully complete the challenge but you increased your activity, you still made important steps toward getting healthier.
For anyone who did not take the challenge, today is a great time to start.
I want to give a shout-out to Gabe Albornoz and all our Department of Recreation staff for the work on this Move More Montgomery Festival and for everything they do all year long.
